Under
the Patronage of Qasim Al-Qasabi (?), the Epilepsy Support and
Information Centre (ESIC) hosted a Volunteer Appreciation
Ceremony on March 31, 2007. ESIC is a nonprofit volunteer
Epilepsy Support Group affiliated with the Comprehensive
Epilepsy Program of the Neurosciences Department at KFSHRC. The
mission of ESIC is to promote increased awareness, understanding
and societal acceptance of epilepsy.
Comprised of both community
volunteers and volunteer healthcare professionals, ESIC held
this Appreciation Ceremony to acknowledge and thank the many
active volunteers that contribute to the varied ESIC activities
and events. Among those honored were epilepsy patients, parents
of children with Epilepsy, students of all ages, Physicians,
Neurologists and nurses. ESIC fully recognizes that is the
combined efforts of each and every individual that have enabled
ESIC to accomplish so much in such a short time. This day was
meant to honor that effort.
Dr. Al-Qasabi personally distributed an engraved crystal award
to each volunteer.
Another highlight of this event was the distribution of awards
to the three top winners of the themed art contest “Living a
Better Life without Epilepsy” in which individuals with epilepsy
were invited to depict this theme in an original work of art.
The Epilepsy Support and
Information Centre also thanks King Faisal Specialist Hospital
and Research Centre, the Department of Neurosciences, and the
many other departments who provided ESIC with technical support,
office space and many other types of support. ESIC thanks you
all for your contribution and dedication
