The Epilepsy Support and Information Centre (ESIC) is pleased to
announce the winners of its recently held Themed Art Competition
entitled "A Better Life Without Seizures". Individuals
afflicted with epilepsy were invited to enter any original
artwork that reflects his/her hopes and dreams of living life
without epilepsy.
Unfortunately, people with epilepsy are still facing severe
stigma in the school, workplace and in marriage. It was hoped
that this contest would both encourage people to open up on the
subject of epilepsy; and highlight the capabilities of
individuals with epilepsy.
The first prize winner is Mohamed Bander age 11 from (Jeddah)
His drawing depicts his dream of becoming seizure free and
growing up to be a teacher (or teach others about epilepsy). The
first prize is SR 3000.00

The second prize winner is Algwhara Suleiman age 11 from
(Riyadh) She used a computer to illustrate and write her
feelings about "Life Without Seizures". She writes what
strategies she has learned to help her control her seizures. The
second prize is SR 2000.00

The third prize winner is age Shoq Ibraheem
from (Madenah) Her drawing of fish in the ocean reflects her
feelings that a "Life without Seizures" would be as carefree as
the life of a fish in the ocean. The third prize is SR 1000.00.

We congratulate each of the winners and thank all those who
entered their artworks. We hope they all have the chance to live
a "Better Life Without Seizures"
